Global Day of Prayer Summit - Las Vegas

The Global Day of Prayer has interfaced with the National Prayer Committee in worship and prayer for Canyon Ridge Christian Church with others from the Church in the city region. God has shown up powerfully during the worship and prayer times. The setting has been set for many indivduals to attend the Summit from across North America.

Dave Butts president of the National Prayer Committee opened the Friday morning in prayer and welcomed all. Bob Bakke, the North America facilitator, unfolded the prophetic picture of what the Global Day of Prayer is walking into with many others from around the Globe what God is calling forth for the Earth at this time. The powerpoint overview of the vision of service, unity and the calling forth of the Church to praise and worship throughout the nation serving with humility and submission to one another in love as Christ loves us. The GDoP is NOT a program, but a Vision and a set of values.

The five year goal is to see 500 million in prayer for 10 days of 24/7 prayer up to Pentecost, one day of station prayer on Pentecost and 90 days of blessing after Pentecost - accessible to Billions throughout the Earth.

The Model is Acts 1:14 - with the focus on prayer which resulted in a Global audience. As as result God brought change to thousands through that one day of prayer and proclamation. Acts 2:42 indicates that after the outpouring of God's Spirit brought great blessing to the city and needy of the Global body who attended the Day of Pentecost. The blessings brought an integration of those present in the teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers. And the city dwellers see what was taking place among them all and it impressed them, and God added to the number of those living there to the larger group.

Bob Bakke introduce the Global Day of Prayer Prayer Guide, produced by Steve Hawthorne of Waymakers. Copies can be ordered from Waymakers. It is anticipated that people from every time zone on earth will be using the Prayer Guide.

The Day of Prayer and Worship will call forth 200 - 500 million people into the presence of God. 90 Days after Pentecost the Church world wide is urged to bless our cities by meeting the needs of the poor, etc, with the gospel and meeting the physical needs of people, neighborhoods, and cities. How can we uniquely and creatively needs the needs of the city. Read Much More
